Covenant International

Since the beginning of Covenant in 1995, our International Program has been an integral part of the school. We now regularly host 20 students from countries all over the world.

Covenant is a well-established and highly respected Christian School. Covenant offers a college preparatory curriculum, an exciting January term that includes internships, several travel opportunities and cultural experiences throughout the United States, and many curriculum enhancing clubs and activities

Covenant is on the west side of Indianapolis. Indianapolis offers a wide range of metropolitan cultural experiences. It is the home to the NBA Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the NFL Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis 500 auto race, and was the host of the 2012 NFL Super Bowl. About Our Program

Our Goal

We hope each student will leave Covenant confident and prepared to pursue education beyond high school. Students will gain a higher level of English proficiency, a knowledge of formal writing, and a greater understanding of mathematics, science, and history. They will also learn how to engage in an American classroom and how to study and prepare for exams. Covenant offers international students a unique experience. A few highlights of our program are listed in the Tuition and Fees section below.

ENL Class

English as a New Language (ENL) class is a time for students to practice and develop English language skills in four key domains: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. This class is specifically designed to help international students as they transition to the American educational system and includes personalized instruction for each student. ENL class is taught by a licensed instructor.

International students at Covenant are housed with families from our community. This is a rich experience for students as they are able to engage with an American family and are supported by host parents during their time at Covenant. Students often stay connected to their host families even after graduating from Covenant. Scroll down to read the story of William, a former international student.

The Application Process

Complete the Application

Access the application by clicking the button below.

Set Up an Interview

After receiving an application, we will contact you to set up a video call interview.

Acceptance Decision

A decision will be made regarding admission to Covenant based upon the student application file and interview.

Once you have received an admission invitation to attend Covenant, complete the enrollment contract and submit a $1,000 deposit to secure your place.

Complete the Visa Process

After you complete the enrollment contract and your deposit is received, a Form I-20 will be mailed to your family with a Letter of Acceptance. These documents are used to secure an F-1 student visa during your interview at the American embassy in your home country. For more information about this process, visit the Study in the States website.

Pay Tuition & Fees

Tuition is due in full prior to the student’s arrival in the States and the start of your studies at Covenant. For information regarding our current international student program tuition and fees, as well as financial aid inquiries, please contact our International Program Director, David Tripple.

Make Travel Plans

Arrange and notify Covenant of your travel arrangements. All students must arrive and depart from the Indianapolis International Airport. Your host family will meet you at the airport, and Covenant will help coordinate your arrival in Indianapolis on one of the designated move-in days.

Homestay Program

One of the unique features of Covenant’s international experience is the homestay program. Students do not live in an impersonal dormitory setting, but instead live with American families. This provides a much better learning environment for the student, as well as more intentional social and emotional support. Host families are chosen after background checks, reference checks, and personal interviews. Orientation and ongoing support is provided to host families.

Student Testimonial

“A year ago I had never been away from my family for so long and I had this question, without knowing anyone, could I live out of the country with someone else while facing a language and culture barrier? Well, the answer is yes!

I learned many things from my host family and grew in maturity as our time went by. Now that I am away from both of my homes and heading to college, I miss all my friends and especially my host mom and dad. We still keep in contact, and every time I see my host family, I feel like we had never been away from each other. Even though time passes and we are away from each other, nothing has changed in our relationship. Living with a host family is truly what made my study abroad experience the life changing event that it was. I have enjoyed every moment with them and I think of our time together every day.”
