Library Media Center

“When one has read a book, I think there is nothing so nice as discussing it with some one else even though it sometimes produces rather fierce arguments.”

The Letters of C.S. Lewis to Arthur Greeves

Welcome to Covenant’s Library Media Center (LMC), a place that promotes both educational resourcing and relationship building aspects for the Covenant community.

Covenant’s LMC  participates in the Indianapolis Public Library Shared System. Partnering with IndyPL allows our staff and students access to many materials, databases, and resources that only a large city library can offer. This partnership gives our students and faculty the opportunity to thrive in their academic and personal growth goals.

The Library Media Center is grateful to the Indianapolis Library Foundation for funds used to improve Covenant’s Library Collection. Funds were used to purchase new books, films, and another 3D printer.  Please stop by and see what’s new in the library

Library Information

Our LMC is open from 7:45am – 4pm each school day. Covenant’s loan period is for three weeks. You may check out up to 50 items at a time.

Indianapolis Public Library delivery days are Tuesday and Thursday of each school week.

Covenant’s LMC is closed during scheduled student breaks and holidays.

Student Library Cards

All new students will receive an Indianapolis Public Library Card Application form.  The filled out form must be signed by the student’s parent or guardian, and returned  to the library. A school library account will be created and the IndyPL card will be given to the new student. This card will be accompanied with a Patron User guide intended to help the new patron make requests and manage their accounts. The IndyPL card will be expired after the student leaves Covenant.

Please note that students who already have an IndyPL library card must turn in a completed Library Card Form with a note that indicates the student has an existing account.

The Library Media Center in conjunction with Covenant’s BTS Department has developed a special collection of essential books and art (film, music, painting) in Christian worldview (70) and spiritual formation (30). Though primarily utilized by students navigating their senior thesis projects, the list is intended for the spiritual growth of the entire community. The collection is showcased in a beautifully handcrafted wooden bookcase made by Jim and Brad Spencer. In addition, a reserved seating area has been created to promote reading and meaningful conversations surrounding this collection and our faith.

A three year revision process will be developed for updating resources. You are welcomed and encouraged to engage with the Covenant 100 collection. We look forward to hearing from you!

Covenant provides three Keurig Machines and K-cups including regular and flavored  selections. (Hot Chocolate is also available.)

The K-cups cost $1 each. You may bring your own K-cup and pay only .25 for hot water. Mug not provided, so you will need to bring your own.
