Chad Canal (’08) received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Indiana University in 2012, and his Doctorate in Dentistry with highest distinction from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2016. He currently practices dentistry just outside Louisville, Kentucky, where he lives with his wife Caitlin and their dog June. Caitlin is a Pediatric Medical resident at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and they plan to move to Zionsville, Indiana, this summer where they will continue to practice in their respective fields.
Kristen (Poe) Addison (’06) graduated from Taylor University in 2010 with a BA in Psychology. Kristen met her husband Shaun at Taylor and they were married in 2011. Since then, Kristen and Shaun have enjoyed a busy and full life in Hendricks County with their three dogs and three children (Graham – age 5, Miles – 3, and Elisabeth – 3). They attend Harvest Indy West where they love to fellowship with their small group. Kristen earned her MBA in 2015 and currently works for Crowe as a Healthcare IT Consultant.
Brooke Tandy (’05) graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Math Education. She married Gavin Tandy (’06) and began teaching a combination of Geometry, Algebra 2, Probability & Statistics & Discrete Math at Covenant in August of 2009 and taught until May 2016. Brooke now teaches online through Achieve Virtual Education with Wayne Township and tutors students in math from home. She and Gavin have 2 boys, Cooper (age 6) and Hudson (age 2). Brooke works from home while raising her kids and helping in Cooper’s classroom. Their family attends Camby Community Church.
Emily Kapps Englert (’04), earned her degree in Elementary Education from Ball State (’08) and currently teaches 4th grade at Kingsway Christian School. She and her husband, Michael, have two boys, Liam (6) and Ryan (2). They enjoy educating and bringing awareness to others about epilepsy as their son, Liam, was diagnosed earlier this year. They are actively involved in the west campus of their church, Traders Point.
Luke Fields (’05) graduated from IU in Bloomington with undergraduate degrees in business economics and Hispanic literature (’09), as well as a law degree (’12). Thereafter, he moved to Washington, DC & joined the Special Matters & Government Investigations practice at King & Spalding. Luke’s wife, Anne Malinee, is a litigator at another Washington law firm, Williams & Connolly. She looks forward to attending the Class of 2005’s 20 year reunion in a few more years. Luke & Anne reside near Capitol Hill.
Greg Jones (’01) graduated from IWU (’05) with a degree in Youth Ministry, a certificate from Focus on the Family Institute (’06), and a MA in Youth and Family Ministries from John Brown University (’07). Since 2009, Greg has been Pastor of Student Ministries at Southland Community Church in Greenwood. Greg and his wife, Erin, have four kids- Nolan (2nd grader at KCS), Macy (5), Claire (3), and Hallie (born at 24 weeks and currently in the NICU at a local hospital).
Nick Tranbarger (’99) graduated from IUPUI with a degree in Physical Education and Butler with a degree in Educational Administration. He has served as a teacher in Perry Township & currently is the Dean of Students at The Oaks Academy, Fall Creek in Indianapolis. He is married to Amanda Phillips Tranbarger (’00), and they have 3 amazing children. The oldest of their children hopes to attend Covenant next year.
Ben Kapps (‘07) graduated from Purdue(‘11) with a Management & Marketing degree and began his professional career at Amazon working in Operations. He now is a Senior Program Manager leading a team in the development and deployment of new robotics and automation across its global network. He married Kandace Beck in 2016. Ben and Kandace reside in Seattle and enjoy travel and visiting new countries.
Emily Robinson (’05) graduated from IU in 2010 with a BSN and was very involved with Christian Student Fellowship. She worked as an RN in Abilene, TX, for 4 years, and then moved to the DFW area. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2016 and has been working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. She and her husband Josh live in Denton, TX, and he is a full-time missionary with a humanitarian organization called Global Aid Network, working as lead for their Visual Media Team. They live in Denton, TX, and attend Denton North Church, where they lead the church’s Outreach Team. Emily says, “Life is good!”
Andrew Lehr (’06) graduated from Taylor University with a degree in Biblical Literature (’10), and Masters in Higher Education & Student Development (’12). At TU, Andrew was an RA for two years, studied in Ireland for a semester, and met his wife Maria during his time there. Since then, Maria and Andrew lived in Arkansas for five years while they both worked at John Brown University and then moved to Ohio in 2017 where their son, Nick, was born. They recently moved back to IN and now reside in Anderson where Andrew is the Director of Student Success at Anderson University.
Aaron Gegg (’12) graduated from Purdue in 2016 with a BS in Management & is currently completing his third & final year towards his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from IUPUI. He married alumna Marisa Smith (’13) in 2016. He hopes to practice in an outpatient orthopedic & sports rehabilitation setting.
Brandi Fishburn (’11) graduated from Purdue University in 2015 with a degree in Elementary Education, where she sang in the Purduettes for four years & worked as a barista. She married Nolan Schafer (‘11) in 2018 & currently teaches 1st grade at Kingsway Christian School & coaches JV volleyball at Covenant! The Schafers attend Connection Pointe Christian Church.
Kyle Egenolf (’06) studied Industrial Engineering at Purdue & went to work for a German company in the power transmission industry, traveling to China & Germany. He graduated with his MBA from from Kelley School of Business in the fall of 2017 & pursued a career shift into the process automation industry which led him to his current employer, Endress & Hauser. Kyle is currently working as the Operations Manager for their temperature manufacturing location that makes high precision industrial thermometers & system components like data managers, transmitters & recorders.
Anthony Reiss (’00) graduated from Ball State, where he studied Entrepreneurship. He currently works at SRAM, a global bicycle components manufacturer. His wife Jess works for the state of Indiana, specializing in air law. Last July they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. They attend Chapel Rock Christian Church (where they met), serving the high school group.
Kala Ghooray (‘09) is a 4th year medical student at UC Irvine, currently interviewing for residency in internal medicine. She completed her MPH at UC Berkeley last year and hopes to continue working with underserved communities in her residency and beyond.
Justin Fuller (’03) played soccer and graduated from Milligan College in 2007 with a degree in Biology. He finished his MD at Ohio State University COM in 2011 and completed a Pediatrics residency at Riley Children’s Hospital in 2014. Justin is now a pediatrician at Riley and also volunteers at Hope Healthcare Clinic in Avon. Justin and his wife Ashley have 2 girls, Mattie and Bernice, and are in the process of becoming licensed foster parents. Justin said, “God has placed a burden on our hearts for the thousands of vulnerable kids who are pulled out of their homes yearly, and are a part of the foster care crisis that Indiana is facing. As the day draws nearer that we may be asked to take in a child, we do not feel ready or adequate, but we know that God wants to use our obedience rather than our abilities.” The Fullers are members of Traders Point West.
Nick Thompson (’12) graduated from DePauw University with a double major in Economics and Spanish, where he played four years of tennis and started a Bible study in his fraternity. Nick married McCaela Moes (’13) in 2017 and now works as an analyst for a company called CREA, an affordable housing investment company. The Thompsons attend Zionsville Fellowship.
Conner Reagan (’13) graduated from Taylor University with a BS in Design & Engineering for Technical Theatre, where he won multiple awards for his work. He teaches physics & coaches VEX Robotics at Calvary Christian Academy in Ft. Lauderdale, with plans to help build a tech theatre program. Conner has also done design/construction work with Lot 48 Property Group, Miami Children’s Museum, and Thinking Cap Theatre. Conner says, “I’m learning all the time about the truth of the verse: ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ (2 Cor 12:9)”
Precious Studdard Miliner (’09) is a labor & delivery nurse at Eskenazi Health. She recently received the Daisy Award, honored for going above and beyond, providing exceptional care for her patients. She considers it an honor to serve others.
Michael Herr is a senior at Wheaton College & is Vice President of the Men’s Glee Club, and has traveled to China with the group on tour. He is double majoring in history & political science, & is planning to pursue his doctorate.
Chloe Tatom (‘16) is this year’s IWU Student Body President! Chloe was involved in leadership in many aspects as a Covenant student & was the 2016 Principal’s Leadership Award winner.
